New Indian restaurant coming to Winchester?

Update: The photo above was taken Friday evening. TAJ Bistro is definitely coming. So far we have been unable to contact the owner.

According to the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s alcohol licensing board’s application database, three individuals have filed an application for a retail drink license for a new restaurant, to be called Taj Bistro. The address given for the new eatery is 12 Carol Rd., which is the building long known as the Kantucky Diner, and which most recently housed Dickey’s Barbecue. Based on the names of the owners and the name of the business, we’re assuming it will serve Indian food. A first for WinCity!

New life for Steak and Shake / Music City Grill location?

Speaking of vacant eateries, word on the street has it that the business on West Lexington Avenue that was built in 2017 as a Steak and Shake location, and most recently was known as Music City Grill, is about to get another shot at life. Several people have told us the new restaurant will be another burger joint, possibly a franchise of a California chain known as Fat Burger.
